Frequently Asked Questions
The answers to your travel nursing needs.
- Q: What type of facilities will I work at as a travel nurse?
- RN Network nurses have a variety of opportunities—large to small hospitals, major metro areas to rural communities—and of course, access to the nation's top teaching facilities. Choosing a fast–paced lifestyle or a quiet, peaceful environment is as simple as discussing your preferences with your RN Network recruiter.
- Q: Will I need more than one license?
- You must have a current nursing license in the state of your assignment. RN Network reimburses the full amount of the licensing application fee. And know that some states have reciprocal acceptance of other states' permanent licenses. (Note: While some state licenses are obtainable in one to two days, other licenses can take 10 weeks, so begin the process early.)
- Q: How are the hourly rates for each assignment determined?
- Rates vary with the cost of living for the area. You'll often find travel nurse hourly rates are higher than staff nurse rates due to shift differential, weekend differential, charge pay and other factors.
- Q: Are travel assignments always 13 weeks in length?
- Thirteen weeks is the industry standard, but with RN Network you can often choose 4– or 26–week assignments. Occasionally, 52–week assignments are available.
- Q: What does JCAHO certification mean to me?
- The Joint Commission has awarded their Certificate of Distinction to RN Network. This means our promise to you of delivering quality service comes with an added guarantee—we meet or exceed the standards for the industry.
Many healthcare organizations that receive Joint Commission accreditation now require similar standards for their staffing firms. RN Network's certification increases our ability to offer you preferred assignments in more locations. - Q: How do your benefits compare to other nurse staffing companies?
- We are proud to bring you the most comprehensive and customized benefits package in the nurse staffing industry. We offer day-one PPO coverage, with ZERO premiums, ZERO deductible. In addition to top pay, we offer a large list of additional benefits and bonuses, including unlimited $1000 bonuses for every four consecutive, 13-week assignments you work! See our Travel Nursing benefits section for details.
