Taking Travel Nursing Jobs in North Dakota

Buffalo in North DakotaFrom golden plains to the dramatic peaks of the Badlands, North Dakota has all sorts of hidden gems. It’s the perfect spot to take a break, breathe fresh air, and explore a state that doesn’t get as much attention as it should.

Ready to take an adventure through small towns, beautiful parks and the fascinating Wild West? Find out why a travel nursing job in North Dakota might be the perfect opportunity for you.

Go back in time at Bonanzaville

For the ultimate western experience, visit Pioneer Village in West Fargo.  It has 43 different buildings that show what life on the western frontier was like. Walk through blacksmith shops, recreated creameries, original houses and cabins, and old-fashioned banks.

Bonanzaville tells the history of North Dakota and the original settlers in Fargo, and volunteers dress up in clothing from the 1870s. It’s a great opportunity for learning and fun for any age.

Take a break at Lake Metigoshe State Park

Need a rest from the city? No matter what the time of year, Lake Metigoshe  offers something for everyone. Clear waters and bright green oaks attract canoers, while rolling hills attract mountain bikers. The lake brings all sorts of birds and wildlife, and in the winter, it’s a great area for cross-country skiing, ice fishing, and snowmobiling.

Next, visit the International Peace Garden, which straddles the United States-Canada border. Stroll along the gardens filled with blooming flowers and dark green trees, and don’t miss the collection of 6,000 different succulents and cacti.

Explore the Maah Daah Hey Trail

Known as “North Dakota’s Best Kept Secret,” the Maah Daah Hey trail offers 144 miles of prime biking and hiking. It’s closed to motorized vehicles, so you’re guaranteed a quiet and peaceful adventure.

With eight campgrounds along the trail, you can turn the trip into a full vacation if you’ve got a week off. Or, if you’ve just got the day, take some time to explore one of the many trails that branch off of the Maah Daah Hey trail.

The 1.5-mile hike to the ice caves, for example, will lead you to dramatic rocks that shelter ice and snow inside, generally until mid-July.
